Classic Packard's are highly sought after by collectors worldwide because of their build quality, great looks, and rugged reliability. This straight 8 five passenger 626 sedan is a high quality older restoration offered at a fraction of today's restoration cost. This car represents excellent value. Everything is there. This Packard runs well and should give many years of enjoyment. An owner's and shop manual are included. **** MECHANICAL: The frame, suspension, and everything under the vehicle is solid and intact. The brake system is operating nicely, and the Firestone 6:50x20" tyres are in good condition. Packard engines have a wonderful reputation for reliability, and plenty of power. This engine bay still looks good. A later carburettor is the only blemish on originality.( an original carburettor has since been obtained)**** EXTERIOR: There is plenty of evidence that this car has always been well cared for and covered. The body is straight, and painted an attractive two tone teal with dark blue mudguards. There are a few minor chips and some minor paint age cracking, but nothing to detract from its excellent presentation. The trademark grille and all chromework are still outstanding. This car has its original bumpers, mascot, petrol cap, locking spare, etc.( an additional tail-light for the right side is included with the sale)**** INTERIOR: The interior is period brown cloth and looks magnificent. The whole interior including headliner, door panels, window shades, seats, and carpet are attached properly. It has rear vanity armrests with mirror and cigarette lighter. All door mechanisms (latches, locks, hinges & handles) function perfectly and have a nice 'snick' snick' sound when closing. The interior wood trim is all original and in excellent condition. The driver's area is complete with all gauges and steering wheel tabs. The front windscreen is perfect and tilts open**** DRIVING: The Packard started easily, and runs so quietly that it is hard to be sure it is running. Full 45 psi oil pressure. Shifts smoothly, and pulls with lots of power. Brakes work well and stop in a straight line. This car is easy to steer. New battery and renewed roof covering; which had started to tear. (New top in correct long grain has been professionally fitted). In 1929 this Packard cost about ten times the price of a Model A Ford. You can see the quality everywhere. This Packard is a very nice car, and represents excellent value.
